I know this does not belong here, but I figured I would get more responses, and it is partually due to DBC.

I am trying to make a simple 3-D pong game (2-D Play style, 3-D Graphics.) and when I export the pong paddle from 3-D Canvas and look at it in the veiwer in DBC, I get this:

When it is supposed to look like this:

Is it a 3D Canvas Fualt or DBC? I have the texture saved in the correct folder, and I saved it with the textured mapped on, but it is not saving it as such... I am gonna try something real quick, if it fails, I am coming back...

Off the bat, I see a reflection and a green highlight on the picture of the supposed to be model. These won't be read by the file DBC imports unless there is a texture (a picture) in the form of a .bmp file that actually looks the coloring of your paddle. The green highlight I mentioned is probably the Diffuse color and that would be the color that seems to show up in your DBC viewer image. If you have a Specular setting (the highlighting itself) in 3d Canvas, that also won't be translated in the import file so that will just vanish. It looks like your model is in three or more sections each with it's own texturing. The red that is showing up on the DBC image makes me think that the RED and BLUE positions are reversed in the 3d Canvas model; different than what DBC expects. Can you post the x or 3ds file for the model?

Enjoy your day.

That was in BMp... Also, it is showing the unwrap of it. And it is doing it again.. In 3D Canvas, I resaved it as a BMP, and I am getting the unwrap...

Is this for the Ultimate Pong challenge?

Actually. Kinda. I thought of doing this before I saw that then I thought I would take place in it if I finished.

don't wanna post the actual model? That's ok. Wihout the model I guess three things:

1. The is no texture that is being exported along with the model
2. The colors of the model are based on the colors you've chosen for the texture - most likely just the Diffuse is showing
3. The texture coordinates are not being exported from 3d Canvas

Enjoy your day.

Sorry about that. Here it is. I am fairly new to modeling so it is basic, but it works, kinda.

Here it is.

Oh, and also, thanks for not flaming me. =D

Also, when I use PNG as the textures format, it works in 3D Canvas. I may try jpg... Jpg failed...

In DBC, if the bottom of your model is flat, then it totally works. I thought at first it might be the scientific notation, but I changed that to 10 decimal places and it looked the same. It looks to me the way you said you wanted it to look. What version of DBC are you using? I tested it in 1.13 .

Enjoy your day.

That may be the problem.. Considering my dad got it for me at Nebraska Furniture Mart, I only got the 1.12 ENHANCED version, (what it says at lower left cornor) and I cannot seem to download any upgrades...

I cannot seem to update. >.<

Forgot to mention, I was getting trouble, so I uninstalled and reinstalled DBC, so I lost the updates...

You know, I've been thinking way too big. Back to the basics... Make sure the texture and the object file are in the same directory. You version of DBC, 1.12 enhanced, should work fine.

Enjoy your day.

Um, that is not the problem...

Ok I found the problem. It was loading it from the folder that the uv map was on in the folder in the same folder. If that made sense, but I found the problem.
