Well, I'm new to FPS Creator, and I'm doing pretty well. I can do all the basics, some intermediate stuff - you get the picture. The thing I'm having trouble with (or I don't know how to do at all, due to lack of tutorials) is making an image pop up, and having to press a key to continue... or at least make an image pop up.

For starters, I know it's an image file saved as a .TGA. From there I have absolutely NO idea. For anyone willing to help, I'd appreciate it!

Go find Nickydude's Tips and Tricks guide, and search through it (or even this very board, using the Search Tool at the bottom of the page) for something called a HUD.

And there aren't a lack of tutorials for this kinda stuff, just the lack of initiative to find the tutorials. The guide I've mentioned above is available in a STICKY topic, and it has LOADS of tutorials in it. I've even written some tutorials on this board. Do a search on this board for "Guide", I bet you'll be astounded at your results.
