Hi all!

I have some important data which was created on a mac on my hard drive.
Its stored in 4 separate 'toast' files with the extension ".toast".
I believe these are sort of ISO files made by the Mac OS-only CD burning software "Roxio Toast"

I have researched these files on the internet, and some people suggested that simply renaming the file names from "*.toast" to "*.iso" will enable them to be opened in Nero Burning Rom.
This does seem to work, but then when I try to burn them, the burn process just fails at around 6%.
It fails at 6% for each of the ISOs so I don't think its a corruption problem but a problem with the format.

It was also suggested at '7-zip' should be able to open the "toast" files, but this simply reports that the files are not recognized.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to get these image files burnt to disc, at I really need the data urgently.

Thankyou!

I think Magic-ISO might be better for opening them, maybe even supports the toast extension. Try a demo of that perhaps, I think I paid around £30 for it, it is a very handy program though if you need to open up or create ISO's properly.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

Thanks guys, problem solved.
I just dug out my old G4 which I thought was broken but turns out runs and burns discs quite nicely =)

Thanks anyway!

Use someone else's mac that has a CD burner in it.
Mac OSX can burn Toast files natively in the disk utility.
Rather nice.
