Are you sure? I have a memory of the Windows CE logo appearing when the unit was switched on, even with no disc in the tray.

MS merely promote CE is able to run on it, it isn't directly built into the DC / the DC doesn't run on CE

despite of what people say and despite of all the microsoft haters out there the only os i will ever use (until it becomes completely obsolite) is windows xp

i know linix has wine but when it comes to games, emulators and virtual machines are not the best solution. i hate dealing with these programs to get a windows app to work on linix and there is always a chance that something will not work.

I do agree that linix is pretty cool. I used a ubuntu live cd to help me back up my stuff since i had disk problems.

visually appealing and pretty neat. i fiddled around with it for a while and didnt find it very useful.

i like windows more

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

The latest version of Wine can run some very basic DBC apps. I got the intros of all Starwraith 3D Games playing with only a few native DLLs from Windows and the only slowdown occuring is from text-functions. I'm pretty impressed now Dreamweaver and Photoshop also work on my Wine installation.

I'd love to see a linux compatible version of DBP although I know it's not going to happen, but I think having a company like pushing gaming on linux would be a big improvement. That said, they seem to have some kind of deal with microsoft now, so it's even more unlikely

It would be nice as an project. DBPro for linux, that is. Maybe some people here on these forums can do that (could have done it myself, I just do not have the skill for it)...

PAGAN, we will now hunt you down with verius weapons suited for an mob!

Just kidding. If you like windows xp better, then it is your choise and no one here have the right to decide it for you.

Darkness, you haunt me. If I give in, I would be an monster beyond imagining. Light, you guide me. Thanks to you, I see past the nothingness. Life, I choose to live in the light.

In the end, it all comes down to how Wine implements DirectX, right? So, maybe with some twiddling of native DLL's, it works. I installed DirectX 9, and am now trying to see what I get out of Dream and Soulhunter, then what I get out of the preview versions of DBP games.
