Before you all start screaming at me to "read the manual" or "search the forums", sit back and read the issue.

hI create the enemy in question and have him follow the waypoint and spawn when the game is loaded, he works just fine. The problem comes when I try to incorporate a trigger zone.

:::::::MY STEPS::::::::
I create a trigger zone and place it outside the door so that you walk into it before you open the door. I give it the name of Enemy1Trigger so that I know what enemy it will spawn.

I change the main fpi to the plrinzoneactivate script which activates the "if used" of the trigger zone.

Then, in the "if used" box, I type in Enemy1. I then delete the soundset so that the trigger zone doesn't click when you walk through it.

I then open the properties to my character. I change the name to Enemy1 and change the "spawn at start" to no.

Then I run the game. The trigger zone apparently activates and you can hear the character walking, but it is not visible. How can I get the entity to spawn from the trigger and actually show up????

Update your DirectX

Also, the character files may be lost/corrupted, is it a custom job?

I have the newest directx update and the character that I am using works fine when I don't incorporate the trigger zone. It only acts up when I use the trigger zone to spawn the enemy.

Try updating DirectX anyway, or upgrading FPSC.

I have the latest complete FPSC upgrade. v107. I haven't dl v108 cause apparently there are still problems with it. I tried upgrading the direct x again and still have the same issues. What else can be done?

I've got V1.08 beta4, and it's excellent, next-to-no bugs at all....

ok... I just got the v108 and it works now. But I've noticed that once the character is spawned the frame rate drops drastically. Also, when I shoot glass windows now, they don't shatter they just disappear. That's not a huge problem, but if anyone knows of a way to fix that it would be nice. Thanks again.

hahahaha

if you want to go back to 1.07

The solution:

Open your setup.ini

and undo the effects at the top and then save it as setup.ini

What to change:

realgameview=1
dynamiclighting=1
dynamicshadows=1
useeffects=1
useeffectsonguns=1
useeffectsonscene=1
useeffectsonentities=1
useeffectsonessentials=1
dividetexturesize=1

Make it:

realgameview=0
dynamiclighting=1
dynamicshadows=0
useeffects=0
useeffectsonguns=0
useeffectsonscene=0
useeffectsonentities=0
useeffectsonessentials=1
dividetexturesize=0

and then save it as setup.ini

(in your test version the setup.ini is in your FPSC folder
and your game version is in your game folder.)

pain

Me = noob

and i love The TGC : )
