I'm trying to animate a couple items I got from turbo squid, a TMP and a K2 assault rifle. I tried milkshape 3d for wuite a bit, but the process was way too confusing, even with the tutorials... I need help. Could anybody reccomend another tool for this?

I think highly of myself. So what?

There's that weapon creator, but you have to buy it. You're best off practicing in a certain modelling app until you can do it.

For low price FPSC and Dark BASIC media packs.

WC only makes weapons, doesn't animate them.

Yeah... tried fragmotion, but the animation scheme was a little too complex. Right now I'm just using it for .x to .ms3d. Still having trouble with the hands, though!

WC doesn't make any entities; that is what a modeling program does. WC only imports entities and their animations, and makes them FPSC-ready.

If you've got over $3,500 to spare, go for it.

Do yourself a favor (unless you can pick up the tab for 3DSMax) and get Milkshape.
You can model, texture and animate a model with it.And you can do a bunch of other stuff like make models in a wide variety of formats.
Even if you don't model Milkshape is worth the money just for the files it converts.
For the price tag (less than $30 USD) it's one heck of a deal.
I used Milkshape to animate the weapons I make and I even wrote a tutorial on how to animate a weapon using Milkshape (cheap plug).
You should be able to find it in the stickies at the top of this board.
I use both WCS and Weapon Creator for importing my weapons into FPSC.
They are two very different apps that basically accomplish the same thing but I recommend them both.
As has been pointed out though the weapon must be modeled, textured and rigged separately. These programs only import your weapon into FPSC.
Of course you can import your weapons into FPSC by hand.Good luck with that. Before WCS and Weapon Creator came along that is how we had to do it and it is a very long and aggravating process.
You might search this forum for weapons since there are a glut of them available for free.Or get model packs 9 and 10 if you can afford it.Best weapons ever made IMO (no disrespect to Jon or Simon...their stuff is great but there's only one Errant AI just like there's only one Michael Jordan)...model packs 5 and 6 also have excellent weapons.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

Yeah, MS3D is your best bet in terms or animating. I also LOVE the weapons in MP5 and the MP6 guns have MUCH better sounds as opposed to MP9 & 10, which use a lot of stock sounds. But, MP9 & 10 are the best, if only they could have imported dual-wielding or have a knife as a weapon. But, regardless, they all are marvelous values.

There's a really big knife in one of theose model packs (I can't remember if it is 9 or 10)...it's a katana. The other pack has brass knuckles.
I think Errant might have been working on weapons that hadn't been released for FPSC.There is,of course,a knife in model pack 5.
Another factor in a developer deciding to make projectile instead of melee weapons is that projectile weapons work better in FPSC.

I'm sure he will be around sooner or later.

Milkshape 3D may be a little confusing but, you can't find a better program than that. Once you get use to it, it's not all that bad.

BOOM!!!!!! HEAD SHOT!!!
