You dont really need to see a preview of your message as the final message can be edited with the edit button.

Could look like you tried to change some evidence lol...

Yeah, I really miss that feature, too. Very useful if you included many images and links and bold text and so on, to look if everything is correct. It's annoying to edit a message 10 times until everything fits. This is actually the only forum I know which has no preview button.

What I think would be an good complement would be an complement to the "My threads" option, called "Respones", where you get an list of the threads with new messages that you´ve posted in.

You can turn mailback on for threads. So it's sorta the same thing.

Well I think a preview function is a very useful function. I'd like it for when I use lots of images and links and Id just like a way i can see if i did it right with out having the risk of someone seeing my stupidity before i do

maybe, Rich could implement this and optimize the forums so it would work faster, or maybe he works hard enough and doesn't want to lol

You could write a GreaseMonkey script to do it

I should write a Greasemonkey script to replace all posts mentioning it with "This post was made by a Greasemonkey fanboy".

Haha, I don't even have GreaseMonkey installed

It's the only way that I can see of having that feature on the forum until Rich does more work on it.

Rich is one of the best there is! He may not be with them full time anymore but he just recently did a few bug fixes IIRC.

I wish the message editor was the same width as the default forum width. It's really hard to write stuff in snippets that doesn't stretch out the forum.

Well, if Rich is still updating then listing all available pages of a thread on the board would be nice, the latest post link doesn't work and now and then you want to go the the 2nd last page because there are still unread posts there.

Simple Machines Forum is good, that's what RGT used but it's evolved since then

Since when does the latest post link not work? I've been using that pretty much exclusively for many months now and have not had an issue.

In fact, I used it just now to open this post

It doesn't always work correctly for users with a different post per page setting.

please dont tell me you think apollo is better than a forum like cgtalk(as far as the forum experience?) I think thats based all on opinion but im saying theres lots of features like preview post and rich text editing which would be very nice to have, wether or not TGC start using vBulletin or not.

Preview post is a waste of time for me, cuz I usually skip through it anyway without checking my post.

Rich Text is annoying, because wysiwyg editors take ages to load, and viewing posts with GIANT TEXT and crap colors is really annoying.

Frankly, this is the best forum I've ever used. It's extremely fast, it's simple, it's got new posts highlighted. I've left forums that don't have new posts in a thread highlighted (which is most).

The one thing I find annoying is that that new post highlighting disappears when you go from page x to page y in a thread. So if I forget to click "newest post", and go to the 1st page in a multi-page thread, I lose my New Post highlighting

I don't know if that made any sense...

And look at the attached image. Are you seriously saying cgtalk is easier to use? The front page is a mess, ours is in perfect order, and each thread takes up 1 line. It's sweet

I will admit that new post highlighting is a great feature that other forums, cgtalk included, is missing.

Cgtalk is perfectly organized the same way just with more information per a thread line. the title stands out wich is what you need and if you need to read deeper than look deeper.

Apollo is a great forum, I love it but theres always things every forum can improve upon, but again this is just all opinion and speculation.
