This is my crazy pong game...

This requires:
XNA 2.0 Framework (2.1 MB! You'll want it sometime anyway)
and the .Net 2.0 Framework (you should have that)

1) If this in the wrong place, I apologize, it's not exactly DBP so I didn't put it in Program Announcements.

2) If crazy flashing and wavy effects will cause you problems, you should probably leave now. If you have recently eaten, exercise caution (There. Now no when can say that I didn't warn them if the start feeling a little bleh after trying it, I know I do if I keep playing it with the effects on while I work on it)

3) This is a Pong game, not very interesting, oh well. I made it because...
a - People always tell newcomers to make a pong game; I am not a newcomer, nor have I made a pong game before, but I decided to make one.
b - It's a good way to just test effects out, etc.

4) So, this is a two player pong game with some annoying screen effects. I apologize for any bad looking media, I made all of it, and I am a programmer, not a graphic artist. (Taking my first graphics courses next trimester though!)

5) I am looking for what people think in general...
Does it run?
Does it glitch?
There are 4 effects that it switches between, do you see all 4 eventually?
Do you have suggestions for more effects?
Is there anything you don't like, except for the effects?
Is it slow, or does it run smoothly?
Do just parts of it run slowly? Which parts?

6) The controls are Left Shift and Left Control for the left paddle, Up and Down for the right paddle. Press enter to start moving the ball.

7) I plan to add particle effects after I think of the best way to go about doing that, as well as any suggestions that other people have.

Download is in the next post.

Download attached (only 325 KB)

That's smaller than the screenshot, maybe I should fix that
[EDIT] The screenshot is now smaller than the game, as it should be

Wrong thread. A mod should move this to a more appropriate forum.

Seriously, how do you make the little blue text come up below your message?

I wasn't sure, hence the

Hmm, which forum would be more appropriate? I won't bother reposting it there though, I'll just let a mod move it so there aren't two of these floating around...

Posting it here is fine, because its not DBP, however I think next time place it in the "Programming Talk" area.

I dunno, I suppose it may be better than here, but programming talk is much less about finished products than it is about coding...

I don't see an issue with posting it here, don't worry. It could be put here or the Programming Chat. People post their programming questions in Geek Culture once in a while too--- not a big deal

Looks cool. You say XNA framework? I might be thinking of some other letters but I seem to recall XNA having something to do with xbox 360 homebrew games. Is this possible to play on an xbox? (forgive me if I am mistaken about the whole XNA thing)

Yep XNA also lets you make xbox 360 games, but there is currently a fee you need to pay of $49 for 3 months/$99 for a year (or something like that) in order to be able to load yours and other peoples' games onto the 360.

(Though there is supposed to be a license that is free for students coming out sometime.......)
