Dark GDK / Executable wont run

Hi, When I try to run a DarkGDK executable from the debug or release folder I either get the black splash box or an esoteric error message like "error 6".
The program builds and works fine from Visual Studio. Am I missing a DarkGDK runtime dll. All my directx samples and other games work fine just by clicking on the executable outside of the ide.
