Just noticed nVidia released a new graphics card in the UK yesterday called the 9600GT!!

Seems to be a similar price to the 512mb-8800GS/ 256mb-8800GT so can we assume a similar speed?

Of course this will mean a 9800GTx2 will be on the way later this year which should blow the socks off anything currently available!!!

Here's a review from Toms hardware detailing the performance of the card:

It seems to float hover around the ATI Radeon HD 3870 in performance, for about the same pricing. The 8800 GT 512MB still beats it, but not by an extreme margin.

So it seems to be a great value, but it in itself still uses the G92 hardware apparently. So it's realistically no closer to a true 9x00 card than a chicken is a horse

What the heck? It doesn't even support shader 4.1. What's the point?

I'm not sure if 4.1 is any better or not but I'm guessing it is since DX10.1 features won't work without it. Hopefully the GF9800 will be better
