Hey,

Since friday (yesterday) I havn't been able to access certain websites. Some of these are youtube.com and indiegamedev.net.

I have googled and none of the solutions have worked. I have been referred to OpenDNS but their website is one of the ones I can't access .

In IE7 I get the page cannot be displayed. I tried Firefox and I get: The connection has timed out. The server at www.youtube.com is taking too long to respond.

I have scanned for spyware, malware, adware and viruses. I have cleaned the registry, deleted temporary internet files, cookies, ect. My firewall is not blocking them.

Thanks in advance,
Duplex.

Stuff like this has happened to me before. Something to do with certain servers not talking to eachother or something. These probalems seems to resolve themselves given time.

I had this for ages, it was a DNS configuration problem. Check your network's/routers DNS (assuming you don't connect directly)

There's the slight possibility it is a virus. I had a virus that did this to me a while back. Certain sites, I couldn't access. It also botched up almost any anti-virus software I tried installing (AVG, Norton, etc.)

Finally, I was able to get to a site that had an online virus scanner that managed to get things back in order.

No problem, here's a good tutorial on what it is and how to edit it. Vista instructions are halfway down the page if you're running vista.

Then I'd call the ISP, they can determine if it's a router issue, or their issue.

I think it was Pandasoft's online virus scanner that I was finally able to get to work. Most of the major anti-virus websites, it wouldn't load up.

Ok, I still need help on this. Now no websites what so ever show up.

I may also add that the computer I'm using to post this is attached to the same modem and ISP. Yet I can access all websites on this PC. I have tried installings different drivers, but that didn't help. I switched PC towers and when the PC that don't work is on the cable I'm using now, websites still don't show up.

Please help.

Definitely an issue with your pc.

Try a linux live cd and see if you can get on the internet that way, like the ubuntu live cd. Simply burn it, boot up the pc. It'll take a while to load, at the top bar you will have a firefox icon to load up firefox.

That will rule out hardware.

If the livecd allows you to connect to the internet, then it's definitely a windows issue, and you can go from there.

Ok, I'll try that.

Also, the internet is not fully cut out. I can still get on MSN and other programs that require the internet.

Oh, if that's the case then it's probably a windows issue. Particularly, it sounds like something is blocking port 80 on the pc. Check your firewall/antivirus.
