I really dont understand why anyone would so much faith into a piece of wood, in belive they could contact the spirit world. same goes for another other medium of doign so).
Sure we would all like to contact our passed on family members but come on, they were made out of flesh and bone just like everyone. The physical body made them who and what they were, not some invisible "soul".
I personally have had some "weird" experiences and have had family members tell me about what they saw etc, but I honestly think its mostly tricks of the mind where we interpert somthing completly ration into a "supernatural" event.

For the record:
Unconsciousness - Without concious control; either referring to a person's general state (being unconscious) or an act or thought occurring without conscious control.

Maybe the spirits do scary stuff when you use ouija boards because they're insulted that you're trying to contact them by moving a glass on a board!

Thats Subconscious... You great Muffin!

Unconscious is lacking awareness, being knocked out, asleep or dead. Lacking sensory awareness.

Subconscious is when you will pick up on certain things without you even realizing. Thats where Gut feeling can often come from, your mind is seeing subtle outcomes you have seen before, but you are not consciously aware of.

One example of this is a Firefighter in America somewhere. There was a fire at some mill, but he had a gut feeling that they shouldn't enter the building.
It turns out that his mind picked up on the fact that air was moving into the building, instead of the smoke coming out. The building shortly "exploded" soon after. Turns out he had seen this before in a video or something, his gut feeling saved his life and that of his team.

come on I'm right man
you can make an unconscious decision but I never heard of anyone making a subconscious decision.
It's a term but it does actually refer to the subconscious.

Yes it is a phrase but Unconscious and Subconscious are two completely different things.... what you were describing earlier is subconscious.

Specifically, unconscious in the psychology world sounds like it's regarding things you are not aware of, like a tick, or that you blink rapidly when you lie.

Subconcious apparently has to do with thoughts that you can be made aware of, like in the link above, your phone number.

Would I be correct in stating that he moves the Ouija board unconsciously using his subconscious thoughts?

(semantically, not in reality. I don't care to argue that ghosts point further)

Apparently, if you use a Ouija Board while blindfolded, it has been scientifically proven that 9 times out of 10 it will spell out the word "G U L L I B L E".

Quote: "It spelled "Sanjaya," and the next day, we watched the results show live, and that was who got eliminated"
So it tells the future now too. Woah...

I don't even think the blindfold thing is 100% either. After all I can touchtype without looking at the keyboard....

Also look up Harry Houdini. That puts a bit of a dampner on the whole talking to the dead thing.

Personally I don't think that all that sort of stuff is 100% rubbish (more like 99.9999999% with things like strong emotions picking up as electricity and the like taking up the rest...), but is not really very likely. It is human nature to *want* this stuff to be true. I remember watching a program where this bloke was amazing talking to the dead for people, then admitted afterwards he was a complete fake. They did a vote of the audience and the % of people who believed in ghosts and all that was pretty much the same before and after his show. Ho hum... Then again, if it makes someone happier, regardless of if it's true, then whats the harm? I could make another comment there but we are pretty near the lock here as it is...

Oh, and it seems everyone has stories of friends with Ouija Boards. Especially boys. My personal one was when I was 10 and the bully of the school was going on how he had contacted the devil and it shattered all his glasses and the like. He then burnt the board and burried it. Heh heh, gotta love it

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Was Sanjaya dead? Is that why she lost? Just wondered, because Ouija boards and crystal balls are distinctly different items with different purposes. It would suggest a high degree of complete and utter fabrication and create a huge hole in this whole debacle.

True, but I saw the Penn & Teller BS show where they both blindfolded *and* turned the board 180 degrees without the participants knowledge. That sure fooled the spirits on that day.

^perhaps since the spirits don't have a physical body they can't see the physical world that we can, they need to channel their vision trough our eyes. Duh.

I love how we're all in a squandry over these items.
Do you know why these things were invented? Do you know how?

Basically these are items that are made just to get money. I mean, who randomly sat down one day, and made some cardboard (or something) square, and was like "WOW I CAN TALK TO MY GREAT GRANDFATHER!" Would you honestly believe somebody if they told you that? Assuming you've never heard of a Ouija board?

The answer is no. The same basis that most people don't invent their own religions, and only a few have. Mainly because of the fear of outcasting from groups or other societies.

The ouija board has no special powers, and it doesn't even use a psychological skill. All it merely is, is marketing. The same reason people click on the "You've won a free iPhone" ads. Just to see what will happen, and participate in it, because they think "everyone else is".

I personally think it all boils down to peer pressure, and Ouija boards are used (I'm guessing) out of anxiety, or great depression.

you dont want to go into that, some would tell you its not the "good spirits" who are there, just weird things.

some guys decided to mess with candyman and bloody mary and they got spooked out. they were only 8. i couldnt get courage to do it.
