Well, I was messing around with the bloom effect in the EFX mod and I thought a damage system like the Rainbow Six : Vegas damage system would be cool. So, I did it! After much work, as you lose health, your vision will get progressively blurrier. In turn, I turned off the health display, so you must pay attention to how much you blur to how much health you have left.

Place this file in the
folder.

NOTICE/WARNING: You MUST have the latest (1.48 BETA I think...) EFX mod properly installed to make this script work, or it'll CRASH and burn.

Great stuff there Mezoforte.....

I don't use EFX though, 10fps isn't my idea of a good gameplay rate....

Hey, the latest EFX makes my FPS even higher! It puts it at 38 normal and sometimes boils down to 28. It may be our computers, but mine runs fine; it even runs better then the old one.

Here's a video showing an example of what I did.

Sorry for the horrendous video quality, Camtasia shoulda done better. But, it shows you what it does.

EDIT: Hold up, working on a better video

...very nice effect.

This could be duplicated for folks not using EFX, by modifiying the Health Head System that exists.

Seth, bloom effects are not available with-out the EFX mod. But hell, the EFX mod works fine for me, it even makes my games run better!

...I know bloom isn't available in stock FPSC x9.

Simulating it with HUD images wouldn't be too difficult to do. That's what I was referring to.

Well, what bloom does (from what I've experienced) is that it amplifies the power of light. What you might want is ButterFinger's Visual Damage System, which displays splats of blood depending on how much health you have. Search Visual Damage System and you can also download my images for it if you wish.

Can you add this script:
into it and have the blur get more clear as you start to heal again? That would be good, most video games(Blacksite: Area 51 for example) have it. This script was from here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=120919&b=23

That is if you can fix that, "Works fine the first time, but after I fully heal the first time, I go into a phase of god-mode. I WON'T die unless I jump off teh boundaries."

Wait, so you fixed it, "EDIT: Oh, nvm, I got it working, thanks, it works GREAT!"

So, would that be possible(With efx of course)?

Well, I have actually tried to implement that exact script into the setuplevel.fpi file (the file that does it all) but it always ends up doing something wacky. So, for now you'll just have to place a triggerzone with that script over the player start marker. It does make for a more tense game, knowing that you'll heal, but your don't know when...
