So here's what's going on with STYX and other things this year.
These are our current plans, but please note that all of this is subject to change and any information given (including release dates) are only estimated and not yet fixed.
STYX support forum (1st of March 2008)
We're going to open a support forum for the STYX plug-in.
Feel free to visit and talk about the plug-in, ask questions or post bugs and feature requests there.
STYX v2.1 (Q2 2008)
- solution for name conflicts with other TPCs (the Matrix1Utils in particular) while not breaking existing code
- Faster and more feature rich XML engine
- More control over threads
- Corrected help files
- Other tweaks and fixes
SCRYPT (Q2/3 2008)
Yet another scripting engine. The difference is that it will compile scripts to
native machine code. If STYX is installed, too, it will also be possible to call DBPro functions and sub-routines from within the scripts.
STYX for the DarkGDK (Q3 2008)
Since some features of the STYX plug-in are simply not needed in the DarkGDK this will be cut-down version of the plug-in.
MIROX (Q3/4 2008)
Skinnable GUI for DBPro based on Windows Controls.
It will have less features than the Blue GUI for example, but all controls will be skinnable.
STYX v2.5 (Q4 2008)
- Waynets (based on way points and free points with user definable additional data) and threaded pathfinding system
LANDFORM (Q4 2008/Q1 2009)
Splat terrain engine.
Each tile can have its own texture (from a texture pool) that blends to the neighbouring textures. The pool's size and therefore the number of textures is only limited by the available memory.
