This was the thread
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=125342&b=2

I don't understand. All the mod did was insult me then lock the thread. He didn't even explain why. I don't understand what's so wrong about talking about my programming site on a programming forum.

Because the TGC already has a site. They do not need another one, also you cant just make threads promote your websites here. If you want you can promote them in your sig though.

Yes but the more the merrier right? I just wanted to offer people an alternative to this site. And besides my intention wasn't so much to promote it as it was to get feedback and look for people to mod it. After that It would officially go live.

But why bother when we can keep it all in one place (that has an easy to remember web address)? All you did was copy the board names from here, minus a few, and add Counter Strike Source and Visual Basic (spelled incorrectly) boards.

There have been at least 100 people before you that have set up an alternative forum within 2 weeks of joining. Take a look at the number of locked threads in the last 48 hours and you'll understand why sometimes we lock threads immediately. The alternative would have been to leave it open and let you suffer the wrath of other users. believe me, it would have been far more painful.
