if anyone has the time to exlain to me wat any of these words mean it would be great:

-ambients
-waypoint
-AI

ill add more if there are any others that spring to mind

Ambient is another word for background. So Ambient light is the background light level - as opposed to a specific light in a scene which will add extra light.

A Waypoint is a simply marker on a route. In a cross-country race, there may be flags at regular intervals that the runners have to run to.

In a game, these flags are imaginary and are usually variables containing X, Y and Z values making up a 3D co-ordinate and used to make things move along a specific path.

AI stands for Artificial Intelligence and in a game is code which is applied to objects to make it look like they have some form of intelligence - when in fact they do not. This can be as simple as the game of Pong where the CPU controlled paddle is moved towards the ball.
