Hi,
I'm creating some weapons and just needed to know what type of weapon swords and such are. I'm talking about the "weapontype" area in the gunspec.txt document.

If anyone knows please tell me.

Thanks

well. The "weapon type" field determines how the enemy character will hold the weapon:
1=pistol
2=smg
3=rifle

etc.

There is no animation set on the enemies for melee weapons, so you can set it to whatever you want.

If you create the weapon for enemies to use, they will be limited to using the animations assigned to that weapon type. You're better off making the melee weapon JUST for the player, then creating a separate character with the weapon attached to the mesh, and customising the animations

Or he could use the grenade animation set, 4 I believe. Not perfect, but it should work.

...very true. That's what I did to create my Junior and Juice characters.

I added a machete to the model and assigned the throw animation. Not perfect, but it does make for a very acceptable hacking illusion.
