Newcomers DBPro Corner / rpg help with tiles

okay i want to make an rpg and i got all the images and stuff but
i can't make the tiled backgrounds, with the data command.
but it dont load the image at all..please help

heres a sample

load image "ding",1

data 1,1,1,1
data 1,1,1,1
data 1,1,1,1
data 1,1,1,1

Surely, that code can't do anything?
Are you sure that you don't have to actually use the data in some way?

you forgot to put the extension in the back of the image file e.g.

Actually, the extension would be .jpg, not .jpeg.

REDIS:
Have you made an array in which to read the data values into so that you can use it as a basis for which tiles/images to display on screen? Also, are you sure that the file is located in the current directory?

To be candid, making an RPG seems like a lot to take on for you at this point. I would suggest you consider making a more basic game and building your skills before moving on to an RPG.
