I got to thinking recently, over in the user profile section... why does it ask if you are under 13 or over 13? Do the people here really think anyone would be under 13? Do they really care? Do they want people to lie about their age?

No, there are people here under 13. Its to make sure you are old enough to be lurking about here. I think if you hit I'm under 13 you have to get a parents Email or something.

@ INH
that wasn't my point, I kind of meant why do they even expect under 13 year olds to be programming?

I started with RPGMaker when I was about 8 and moved to FPSCreator when I was 14. Now I'm at DarkBASIC Professional and have been using it for almost 2 years. I guess that makes me about... 1074 years old.

Do you people understand English?

I'm handing out slaps to those who are posting their younger (i.e. under 16) ages after explicitly being told not to. Those who say "I'm just over 13 now" is the same thing.

It is there as protection for site owners - not just TGC, but wherever you go. They can state that your age was challenged and necessary steps taken to ensure than an appropriate adult was involved in allowing access.

13 is an American thing, don't know the intricacies.
