I want to play split screen GH3 on my PC and am trying to find just a guitar since i already have one guitar and the game. I cant seem to find a usb guitar anywhere even on ebay.

Ive considered buying an xbox controller and then converting it to usb but idk how well that would work.

any ideas?

Did you look for the PS3 one?

The GH2 guitar for the 360 would work, should plug right in and act as a USB controller - although I don't know if the PC version of GH3 would support it.

You might be able to find xPlorer guitars on eBay, given the 360's track record of ruining disks when you kick it over.

Keo C:
Do the PS3 guitar support BT and USB like the Six Axis? But does it work with the PC version?

Suicidal Sledder:
You could get a PS2 guitar and an USB converter.

The SG is by far the most comfortable guitar to play with. Well, I've not tried the white wireless one for PS2 (that came with 80s), or the new all black Kramer. There are 2 new wood colored wired SGs available. The point on the Explorer is in the way, can't hold the guitar the way I want. The Les Paul have such a sharp edge that I hurt my arm playing and the neck is not straight at the top where I sometimes put my thumb. It's nice with a wireless guitar though (although you have to use batteries).

Wii guitars work if you have blue tooth dongle and a piece of free software whose name I can't remember right now... but a quick search of google (or score hero forums) will tell you it's name... It works awesome too...

Of course if you don't have a WiiMote it's no good to you

k i just want a plain usb guitar without buying GH3 all over again. I have no idea how PS2/PS3(or xbox360 for that matter) controller interfaces work. I know the original xbox used usb protocal but it didnt have an actual usb connector so that involved some wire-clipping and electrical tape.

Am I hearing that ps2/ps3/xbox360 controllers actually use usb connectors? I can find tons of PS and xbox360 guitars on ebay but not a single pc.

So are you guys saying buy a ps2 guitar and it will work fine without mods on a pc?

While we are on the subject of GH is it possible to get GH1 and GH2 for pc without using PS emulators? If not then are emulators a violation of the EULA or something like that? I only have a pc and really want to be able to play gh1 and 2

thanks

I think you will need some kind of software to convert the input no matter what guitar you buy. If you get a PS2 guitar then you must also buy an adapter because it doesn't plug into a USB port. But now I remember that the whammy won't work, at least not with my adapter. I would look around the Score Hero forum if I were you.

i just spent like 45 mins on score hero and didnt find much to help... Do xbox360s and PSs actually use USB plugs for the controllers?? I dont know ive never owned either. I bought the pc bundle and got a normal plain jane usb guitar. funny thing is that it has the xbox logo on it. is it the exact same guitar that comes with the xbox360 bundle?

i dont understand why its so hard to find a piece of popular PC harware unless the hardware is all same but just labeled and sold as PS/xbox hardware.

I'd say again that the GH2, 360 controller is USB, but then you probably won't read that either.
