That's a shame. I guess the limits and boundaries our rating system has supposedly laid forth and are supposedly enforcing have been pushed back once again. I wonder what's next.

Honestly, I think this is wonderful. Not that I necessarily want to get the game but simply for the reason that video games are trashed in our society. It's about time they won a legal battle. Clearly, video games are not any worse that R or 18 rated material we see in movies and tv. I mean yes there is brutal violence and strong sexual content, but honestly, what 18 rated movie doesn't have that? Furthermore, I think those "experts" and "censors" are simply ridiculous, do they not watch tv? Why don't they wake up and smell the coffee that strong content is present all around us and stop attempting to ruin the new generation's industry. Also, all those "concerned people about todays youth" are so pathetically mislead. Do they really think they'll change everything simply cause there is violence? Consider this, children, especially boys, have played thousands of variations of pretend violent games such as "war" or "cowboys" or whatever...have these games mutilated their minds to become serial killers? No of course not. Video games are just the next gen version of the old pretend gun game. Now thats not to say that video games have never in the past convinced someone to commit a crime, there are instances, but there are also instances from those 'pretend gun games' where kids have tried what they pretended to do. And where's the proof in this last statement? Well just look at the facts, since video-games have become widely available, has there been a huge spike of violent crime in the world as a result compared to 1930 let's say? No...there hasn't...so do video games really convince people to commit crimes? maybe...but not any more than any other variation of a old school gun game among 10 year olds...

The fact that it was banned was ludicrous. In the end, it's a crap game though.

For the game publishers its great publicity!
As hard-core gamers want good realistic blood and gore
So they will buy it....

Wa? It is well within the boundaries of the rating system. There are many games out now that have the same sort of violence and gore. There are movies rated 15 that have worse content than this game. Have you played it?

You dont go running around beating innocent people to death (at least there were not any when i was playing...) they were all government agent assassin things, crazy crazy lunatics, army guys, and your the guy trying to survive. I think I remember policemen and homeless people being there but meh. You dont HAVE to kill them to progress. Besides its more of a shoot em up than a "stealth kill game". Anyway it was a crap game, though the storyline kinda seemed interesting.

It definately was not at all as violent or pornographic as the media presented it to be, infact there was no porn

Adults (over 18) should be able to play whatever game they want.Banning media is garbage. We should be able to decide with our wallets what we want and don't want to play.
I want to be free to choose whatever I want to play.If the old lady can't tell me what to play I will be damned if anyone else does.
Personally if my govermnment here in the US isn't smart enough to balance the budget maybe I shouldn't let them decide what's best for me...
With wars, crime and so many other issues that actually affect people going on this video game stuff is nonsense.
I have friends and neighbors that worry they are going to lose their homes because property taxes are skyrocketing out of control.I am sure not a damned one of them is more worried about Manhunt 2 getting banned than about having a home for their families...
They shouldn't have banned the game in the first place. If people don't want to play it they won't buy it and then the developer (in a perfect world...some developers don't take hints well...) won't make a game like that again if it puts them in the poor house.
Of course Uwe Boll is still allowed to make movies...
As soon as they milked all the publicity about protecting the people and the kids from this game they did not care anymore.Put whatever spin you like on it.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

The really sad thing is that you know that at least one of our forum members have seen everything that Uwe Boll has done...and will be proud of it.

This is good news for everyone who makes, buys or plays computer games. Its about time the censors realised that there is a huge number of adult games players who want to choose for themselves what they play. Computer games aren't just for nerdy kids any more! All those 80's nerdy kids have grown up

If someone released a report saying that playing violent first person shooters made young adults more likely to join the armed forces, I bet the government would suddenly support them.
(Probably best not to comment on that last bit in case the discussion turns political)

Well of course - it's one of the optional extra assignments for mod status ... although to my knowledge so far, all of us have passed on it.

I wonder what the difference between this and the unedited version is and is the unedited version released outside UK?

BTW, do Germany still ban games with humans bleeding and dying?

A good rating system is all there should be, not bans unless the game actually breaks a law.

ESA says: "The average game player is 33 years old and has been playing games for 12 years." Top 10 industry facts

I dont see why it was banned in the first place. If you shoot someone, they're gonna bleed. It's friggin science.

Keith might have seen them all. They probably make the "residents" where he works watch Uwe Boll movies until they confess...
It would be a great plot for Law & Order...

cop:"Did you do it?
crook:"No!"
cop inserts [place name of Uwe Boll film here...they are all bad] and presses PLAY.
the crook screams in anguish as he confesses.

A rubber hose seems more merciful...

Then you wouldn't be shooting them. You'd be shooting whatever you hit.

Oddly enough, the US Army has the America's Army game, which itself is violent. I wonder how many parents would not let their children play it (probably not many)
