Hi Everyone.

My first post this - just teaching myself Dark Basic and have got some little things moving around on a 3d landscape.

my problem is that when my game is over and I have gone out of my main DO-LOOP I try to go back to CLS and PRINT and TEXT statements etc. but they apear on the screen for a fraction of a second then go again. I presume that once I have got the game into 3D mode it keeps updating the screen so blanks off the printed comands almost as soon as they apear. I have tried autocam off and sync off and that doesn't seem to help.

can somebody explain how to get the 3D view to stop updating and clear the screen so I can print out some text?

thanks
Mike

Backdrop Off - or Set Camera View 0,0,1,1 should do the trick, depending on the situation.

If you want to keep the 3D scene on the screen, use the Camera View method without a CLS.

Thanks mate that sort of thing seems to work.

I notice however that if I use BACKDROP OFF I still see all my objects so have to delete the matrix, then all my objects. That is OK for the end of the game but the SET VIEW looks better if I am going back in.

many thanks - I will keep on going up the learning curve

If the game is over, you can make the camera spin around the matrix as the background of your text. You leave the backdrop on, and just put the text in a loop with the text command.

Oooooops!!! I accidentally formated drive c.
