Rotate object - rotates around the dead center point of the object.

whats the best method for off-center rotating or rotating or some how reassigning the center point of the object to rotate it?

or is the work around moving the object off center in my modelling program?

ok so i've done what i wanted by offsetting in my modelling program but it is really a work around rather than a fix?

When you calculate the X and Z with Sin and Cos (or NewX/YValue) you always add the pivot point co-ords to the values (as rotation calculations are assumed to be around 0,0,0).

If you know the amount of offset and the direction, then would be the time to do it.

So if you wanted to rotate round a point on the surface of the sphere along the X axis, you would simply add the radius of the sphere to the X offset (or deduct it for the surface on the opposite side).

If you mean actually changing the XYZ point of rotation for an object,
you can use the OFFSET LIMB command. Yes, it works with parent objects
that have no limbs. Limb zero is the parent object.
