That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it's nothing permanent, and that you have other hobbies, or you're going to get pretty tired of making us models.

Best.

Not terrible, Xplosys I'm a painter, sculptor, photographer, musician, and a 3d modeler. And now I have time to play. Then I found a whole new group of friends on the forums. Thats why I give out models.

I think SteveO would get beat up by everybody if they didn't like him...he weighs like 90 pounds or so soaking wet...but then he appears to be almost immune to pain...

@heltor,

...the shopping cart is a nice touch, but it's a tad high on the polys...around 11,000.

I've reduced the model, remapped it, and retexured it with a variation. That model still retains most of the great detail of the original, yet is at a more FPSC-friendly 4000 polys.

I'd be happy to post that here, with your permission, Buddy.

Thanks,

Seth Black

@Everyone,

With heltor's permission, here's a lower poly version of his Shopping Cart model.

Although still a tad higher than preferred, it now is approximately 4000 polys.

I've remapped it, and provided a quick retexture variation. Just insert the contents into FPSC, and you're ready for shoppin' adventures...

Thanks,

Seth Black

Seth Black,

Thanks for the rework. I'm not sure why, but your cart kills the FPS terribly. I put 5 of the original and maintain full FPS, and when I put 5 of yours, my FPS is 13. You would think the smaller footprint would be better, but there must be something wrong with the conversion.

Best.

...huh.

I had the opposite reaction on my machine.

I'll take a peek under the hood, and see if I spot anything weird...

both versions worked for me, I know it was a hi-poly I tend to get to detail oriented, which leads to hi-poly count, i will also ceck it out, and see what I find..........Sometimes it takes a village to raise a model.....lol

First, I put down the standard ground and placed 5 of each in a circle to see what they looked like. I like the idea of having a couple of variations available.

When I tested to get a look, the frame rate was terrible so I tried 5 of yours and then 5 of his, just arranged in sort of a circle around the player.

5 of your original carts ran at full FPS, while his ran at 13.

I'm in V1.08 final with:

Athlon64 4200 Dual Core
3GB DDR 400
nVidia 8600GT w/512MB
