I've had quite a few spam calls over the last month. About five. But today, I got one from a 07936 number. I didn't recognize it, and I have been expecting a call from some friends who recently changed number. I couldn't find any details on it and it didn't seem to be premium when I checked online, and it called me every fifteen to twenty seconds for about two minutes. Eventually, sick of it, I picked up. Silence. No redirect, nothing. 20 seconds of silence before I hit the put the phone down button. I checked my balance. It was still £7.36. I have had silent phone calls before, due to bad signal, but this is a bit weird. What's going on?

(The number is 07936 712xxx, some hidden just in case it is genuine)

this happens to me sometimes from an old mates mobile. Turns out it kept going off lock in his pocket, calling me (being called Adam i was the first on his list) and then muting the speaker (what are the chances!). Could be something similar, that or you have a stalker...

None of my friends have mobiles. Strange but true. Except one, who has a Razr, and so it would be pretty hard to accidentally unlock in a pocket. I suppose it could possibly be a really stupid scammer, who hasn't read his/her telephony textbooks properly and so is charging him/herself £15/second.

Haha, my name's Aaron, and all of my friends accidentally call me all the time, and I can hear what they're saying while their phone's in their pocket. It's quite funny.

Some times companies automatically phone you and see if you answer to see what times of day you are home apparently

We get calls like that in the states, and I believe what they're doing is similar to email spammers, checking to see if it's a valid number to generate a spam list.

I have a clam shell phone, no more phoning accidents I once accidentally phoned my parents and activated the speaker and suddenly I hearing voices

In Sweden we can register our phone number to a special list and then by law no one may call that number for marketing. It takes a while for marketing companies to register changes but if you say you're on the list they will immediately apologize for calling Also, it's not possible to get charged for answering a phone call over here.

No cell phone for me, for as long as I can resist anyway.

Telemarketers are getting brave. When we got our new apartment, we hadn't registered with the "do not call" thing here in the states (to keep telemarketers from calling). One of them called us, and had a computer put me on hold! I actually waited three or four minutes until some guy picked up just to scream his face off, lol. My chances to win a carribean cruise will be dramatically lowered if I slay the idiots giving the alledged prize away

Well, I live in Britain. Few have a shred of common sense over here, and not one of them is in a position of power. Might move to Sweden if my phone's rumble motor wears out.

My dad kept calling some guy called ad. He eventually made a aaa contact with no number.
Next time hold on and see if it is a company spamming you. If it is make a contact called spam and put that number in it

I get a call like this everyday from the same number... I don't even bother answering it anymore.

Why would you expect credit to be taken for people calling you?
