I've made a character model with milkshape3d and fragmotiom. in test game, it can move but has no texture.could you tell me what the problem is? I have read the fpschitandtip.pdf.I followed the steps in that pdf book.no step is wrong,i think.

the fpe file is :

;header

desc = thug (pistol)

;ai
aiinit = appear1.fpi
aimain = people\pace.fpi
aidestroy = destroy\fadecorpse.fpi
aishoot = people\chase.fpi
soundset = male

;spawn
spawnmax = 0
spawndelay = 0
spawnqty = 0

;orientation
model = thug.X
offx = 0
offy = 0
offz = 0
rotx = 0
roty = 0
rotz = 0
scale = 80
fixnewy = 0

;cone of sight
coneheight = 53
coneangle = 50

;visualinfo
textured = thug_3_d2.bmp
effect = effectbank\bumpbone\bumpbone.fx
castshadow = 0

;decals
decalmax = 2
decal0 = red
decal1 = blood

;identity details
strength = 100
ischaracter = 1
hasweapon = ww2\colt45
isobjective = 0

I used a bmp instead of a dds file.
but I had tried the dds file ,the result is same.

My understanding is this could be something to do with using multiple textures for the character.

This is taken from Disturbing13's tutorial on the subject

Quote: "*Q-when i export like you said i get a character with animations and all, but it is completely black in the fpsc(textures appear in milkshape, but not fpsc). there are no textures of any kind on it. how can i correct this?

A-Are you sure you have the correct amount of textures? Usually if you have more than one texture you run into this problem. Although it is possible to use multiple textures, if you are only useing one texture for the model in FPSC it must also only have one in Milkshape3d."

and

Quote: "for the invisible problem make sure you have only one texture assigned to the model in milkshape when you export. i had a huge problem with invisible models myself. then i assigned only one texture like D13 said and the model imported into FPSC great. i hope i helped or at least gave you something new to try out."

Hope this helps. Please post if it does as I'm modelling a character at the moment and would like to know a bit more before attempting the texture part.

Thanks

thanks a lot for your help.The good news is : it worked.The bad news is : I got another problem. The pistol in the character's hand is on the wrong position. The pistol points to himself.
I will post the jpg file soon.
