Newcomers DBPro Corner / DEBUGGER ERROR DirectX not installed

I have just downloaded the Dark Basic Professional Trial, and
I have downloaded and installed Microsoft Directx and Directx SDK
and have run dxdiag and my version is 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904), Trial project run as exe but the F6 run in debug constantly gives me the error "DirectX not installed" and a message box that says " Failed To 'Write ProgramAs ExeorDebug' "

Any help would be appreciated. Is this unique to the Trial version?

That number only identifies it as 9.0c. You should download the latest version, as there are countless releases from about 2004 onwards.

Also - you don't need the SDK to compile DB Pro programs.

I've uninstalled the SDK, and went to Microsoft to get latest 9.x version of directx but get the same result of the Debug error. I have also run dxsetup to install latest components. Make/run F5 compile works.
