Website

This game have a very retro design using a 3D landscape. The gameplay is similar to Pickmin for GC but less cute and more hardcore. Darwinia is a digital world created by a professor inhabited by AI creatures that learns new things over the generations. A virus have appeared that takes over Darwinians and try to conquer their world. You as a hacker must help the professor and control the Darwinians using programs such as Squad, Engineer and Officer (available in the demo).

I got hooked instantly playing the demo! The graphics have a distinct look that I think makes the game look amazing but others may find it quite outdated. The story seems great and the game is a lot of fun to play.

Played it some time ago. One of the best new games and probably the most original.

Make games, not war.

Pretty old now, I've got a boxed copy next to me. Next big thing from them is Multiwinia (which is going to XBOX Live along with the original Darwinia).

Subversion is looking pretty interesting too

Yah I created a thread about this about a year ago--- it is in my top 3 favourite games of all time I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I bought the Steam version back in the day for $20.
