So a while ago, I accidentally deleted all the files from my SD Card, apparently including some files that are required for it to be used.

Windows doesn't seem to really notice when I stick the card in. If I try to right click on the icon under My Computer, or double click on it, it seems to freeze up, My palm pilot tries to format it, but then says that it doesn't recognize the card type.

Is there anyway to fix the card? Thanks.

sounds like a bad sd card. You can't delete anything off an sd card that would make it not work.

Hurray for teh logd!

Really? Because it was working, and then I deleted everything and now it is not cooperating.

The sd card could have failed during the deleting. Nothing you could have done to cause it really (unless you unplugged it without going through the remove hardware thing).

Not much you can do other than to get a new sd card, since both your pc and palm don't like it.

Other users may have advice though, like sd repair software, I'm not too familiar in that field. All I have is a usb key, and it still works for me

Ok...I believe I used the safely remove hardware, it was a long time ago...

If I say cancel to the palm trying to reformat the card and go to Card Info, it says it's a SD064 Sandisk Secure Digital Card, so it doesn't seem COMPLETELY dead.

[EDIT] From Card Info -
Rename Card - This card cannot be renamed.
Format Card - Format Failed.

Unfortunately it seems to freeze when scanning for cards when I stick my card in.

[EDIT]
I sent an e-mail to SanDisk asking if they will replace it. I'm not too hopeful, but it's worth a shot.

By delete everything off it you mean Formatted it don't you?

Sounds like you formatted it in the wrong format. Mist cards needed to be in Fat16 or Fat32 but XP/VISTA defaults to NTFS

Sandisk have a lifetime warranty, i always use Sandisk as they are the most reliable.

As long as there are no files you need to recover try reformatting it in a camera, normaly does the trick. Sandisk Pro used to come with recovery software if you need some try an find it on somones card or off Sandisks web site

By delete everything off it I don't mean I formatted it. I just dragged a box around everything and did a shift-delete. And I don't have a camera here to reformat it with.

Maybe its dead then. Take it back to the shop you got it from if you can.

I used to work in a digital camera shop we just took sandisk back and swapped them there an then because Sandisk had a now quibble return policy.
