Howdy Howdy.
Long time no see.
I just returned from a two year mission. It was great fun.

Now I get to get caught up in all the fun of the computer world. Things have gone crazy since I've been gone. Lots of new stuff.
Vista
Wii
PS3
much other stuff.

what're some of the good stuff I've missed? Any good free games or good software?

Where'd you go for your mission?

You can contact a mod to have it changed.

As for what you missed, go buy "Portal", RIGHT NOW!

Other than that, it's been a pretty boring 2 years for me.

It is good to see you back. You lent a very positive perspective to the forums.
While you were away:
A big issue has been TGC's focus on getting in the lead for DX10 through FPSC. This caused great anxieties among the DBPRO addicts, who feared that DBPro would be sold short. Some of the anxiety was abated just 29 days ago when Lee suddenly issued a DBPro update out of the blue. Batvink has become editor of the Newsletter and is doing a great job. Indi was severely sanctioned for an unprovoked attack on a mod who has generously helped many. There has been tremendous cooperative efforts in getting into shaders, with Green Gandalf leading the way. An NVIDIA-sponsored contest caused a big stir when it did not deliver what had been described as the prizes, and it took TGC a long time to bring the promised rewards to the winners. This will affect future competitions, with a TGC policy now that they will have the prizes in hand before they sign on. The name-change difficulty you mentioned was imposed for good reasons unrelated to anything a good fellow like you would try to pull off. You will no doubt get permission. And the price of large monitors has dropped considerably!

That WAS a great sum up. However, you forgot the you-know-who incident. But lets not mention that. Ever, ever again.

Wow! So, it's been 2 years now? I remember when you went. I'm glad you had a good time on your mission.

As well as all the other stuff mentioned, a new IDE for DBP has been created by me.

Man... I was mean. That's actually pretty embarrassing to read now... I apologize 2 1/2 years later though, Data. I think it was a combination of my anger toward other things in my life and the fact that you're from Canada.

No, it's not fine. You're one of them now. Have fun with your new crappy, first-name-last-initial life.
