I finally got back to playing GH2 again this weekend. Not seriously though. Anyway, late last evening I managed to finally get the 4th star on Six, Expert of course. I've improved some of my old scores, the ones that I'm really bad at. Currently I'm about 400'000 points behind top 2000, maybe I'll work my way back up one of these days. My score really sucks on the hardest songs and I still have to beat Jordan. My left hand is getting really good now and I can play a lot of cool one-handed stuff

I still don't like GH3 if anyone wonders.

Have you heard about the new guitar hero coming out in June? I just saw a trailer for it, hope it comes out on PS2.

Didn't the original makers of Guitar Hero form a new company and made a better version called Rock Group that allows you to do the same as guitar hero but with more intruments and over the net forming a vitual band, or maybe I dreamed it up?

I don't think it's probably had the hype it deserves with everyone still tlking about the guitar one.

Rock Band, that should be released soon in the UK, like end of April, it's already huge in the US. You get a better guitar, mic, and drum set, and it'll cost a fortune - looking forward to it!.

Rock Band kicks GH's butt--- so sorry to say Also, Actiblizzision hasn't exactly met their end of the bargain when giving us new songs for GH. Rock Band's roster has been systematically updated with new songs every single week. Yesterday we even got the Portal song for free--- yay

I wonder if the DS Guitar Hero will work for us lefties?

Rock Band is way better, only complaints are that the guitar stuff in Rock Band is easier than GH's guitar stuff, and that the songs in Rock Band gets aren't as good as the ones GH gets, but that's personal taste, not the games' quality.

There's supposedly some rumor about 'Guitar Hero: Mario Mix' for the Wii. Anyone know if it's real or a hoax?

and rock bands drums suck, if u hit 2 hard it doesnt register, so u have to use the "sock mod". I dont have rock band, but i saw it on youtube

Cool, it even comes with a pick shaped stylus! Playing with only 4 buttons is a bit too easy though.

Rock Band is AFAIK a success. However, the Swedish release date is 5th of June and the price is 2.5 times that of GH with a guitar. I already have 2 GH controllers so I got GH3 quite cheap. GH3 kinda sucks, Harmonix did a much better job with the previous titles. When I buy a PS3 or 360 I would get Rock Band, seems a bit pointless on a PS2 as you can't buy more songs.

Thanks, someone actually congratulated me for my achievement I don't even know what song TTFATF is and I've only got to Cult of Personality on Expert before I got tired of GH3. The poor sound quality is what puts me off the most. I also get an annoying background sound on 2 stages.

I only play with guitar on Rock Band, and find it just as challenging as Guitar Hero. I also prefer the Rock Band guitar, too, with the frets at the bottom

For people who doesn't know, Six is the 2nd hardest song in GH2 for PS2 I forgot to mention that it was my last 3-star rank. Now I have 7 4-star ranks and yet to beat Jordan, so 12 stars to go.

Through The Fire And Flames, I should have guessed but somehow I only rememberd the title as Fire and Flames I've not beaten Lou on Hard so I've yet to unlock it myself. Won't bother playing GH3 on Medium.

I've played TTFAF once, on Expert, at a little local GH2 tournament. I have no idea how far off I was because we played it in pro face-off. But one indication is that I normally beat the guy with 4 times his score but only twice his score on TTFAF. Of course, playing sightread makes it harder.

Kick punch, it's all in the mind..

I heard a rummor there is a new guitar game being made where you clip a microphone to a real guitar and you will end up learning to play songs for real.

The guitar is the hardest instrument to learn so this would be cool learning aid.

That's debatable though; I'd say the guitar is hard to learn, but easier to get a note out of (for a novice at least) - but I'm leaning toward the violin in general complexity/difficulty though, since it takes quite a bit of effort to get a half-decent note out of it

I'd have to agree with that, especially considering the lack of frets on a violin, meaning that you have to be quite accurate if you want to be in tune. Furthermore, if your don't know how to use the bow correctly everything you play sounds all screechy and hurts your ears.

How are you at Jordan? I've been trying to beat that song on Expert forever.

Also, do you play with hyperspeed? I do To enable/disable hyperspeed enter this at the main menu: OBOYOBOY (Orange, Blue, Orange, Yellow (twice)).

It spreads the notes out more making it easier to see them. Though true it is harder, it makes the game more fun.

I totally suck on Jordan, I don't even practice playing on it.

I always play with hyper speed. For me it makes my timing better and my fingers moves quicker as the increased pace have an effect on me. The disadvantage is that you see less ahead, but you're not going to be really good unless you know a song pretty well.

Guitar Rising looks really cool! I got a cheap SC and 2 books but it's quite hard and time consuming to learn. Doing it as a game would be far more fun and I suspect a lot easier. I got to get this game when it comes out.

Okay, I completely take back everything I said about hyperspeed. I tried turning it on, and I improved my score on TTFAF by 60,000 points, giving me 4 stars!!!! Yesssss! It's crazy, I don't even know why but I just did so much better on the solos and fast strumming with it turned on.

Ok, I also just increased my score on My Three Kings by 25,000 points, so I've got 5 stars on that one. I also improved my score on various other songs by a total of 250,000 points.

Most people play better with Hyper Speed but it's not considered a cheat by the community. The explanation is basically that you still have to play the same notes, if you close your eyes it's still the same for both.

I like seeing how well I do in "Performance Mode" which is basically like closing your eyes while playing. Not so good.
