Hi,

Over the years I have spent about £300+ on DBPro stuff. However, I have moved on from DBPro now, and I want to know if I can sell my licence to it?

Cheers,
Bozzy

Do what you want with it, you bought it, so it's yours! out of interest, what have you moved on too? also, what things did you buy, I may be interested, depending on what you have.

If you sell it, you will need TGC to transfer your info to the buyers account.

I'm not sure if this counts as advertising, so I shall mail u if u want (e.g. give me mail addy)

I have moved onto C#, creating my own engine in that using DirectX (i can't do C++)... But I've more moved onto game tool creation rather than actual game creation.

DirectX for C# (or any .NET language for that matter) is deprecated. Microsoft suggests you use XNA or C++ instead. Don't make Microsoft angry.

How can it be deprecated? I truly want to know what you mean here. And you say "any .NET language", well MS doesn't make a non-.NET version of C++. XNA is built on C# thus far.

I had to actually sign in for once just to laugh at the ignorance in that post.

I don't know if you guys completely understood what I said. Managed DirectX(Microsofts DirectX wrapper for .net) has stopped being produced and the only redistributable for MDX 2.0 came in the DirectX SDK. I see how you could see C++ as a .Net language but I meant pure .Net(Language that can't compile native(Non - .Net) code). I didn't mean XNA was deprectaed, I meant that Managed DirectX is. I probably should stop talking but I'll just name some sources:

Well, he's right (minus the "Don't make Microsoft angry" part, clearly a joke). Ironic how it's your post thats shows ignorance.

While it has been a known fact for a long time that MDX was essentially going to get the boot in favor of XNA, it has been known for the same amount of time that favorable aspects of MDX2.0 were rolled over into XNA for functionality and migration reasons.

MDX was extremely short lived, it did amass a decent base of fans, whom were sad to see it go. Though, at this point, besides a few die hards, many have come to accept XNA as a formidable successor to their .net needs.

Except those who went up to VS.net 2008. Luckily, the betas for XNA 3.0 are going to start rolling soon, so that should calm them down a bit from making ridiculous work arounds.

That is all.
