http://movies.ign.com/dor/articles/863515/legend-of-zelda-movie-trailer/videos/legendofzelda_filmtrailer_040108.html

Let's just say, that those who want to know the painful truth about the above, should read the below code-snippet. Those who would love to see this movie, shouldn't. I am not to be kept responsible for disappointments, but I really think this one deserves a thread of its own.

I just found out it's already posted in the other thread. My apologies for that.

Zelda at IMDB

Hoax or not, I would love to see that movie cause it looks good enough. Not only that but I believe such a movie would do very well considering all the other fantasy movies these days. Heck, even DBZ is being made into a movie.

How could they justify spending all that money on producing that trailer, just for a joke? Unless they somehow make it all back in ads from all the views they'll get, I dont see it possible for anyone to do this as an april fools prank.

Have to admit even though it's fake the trailer for that Zelda movie looks a damn sight better than the trailer for the Dungeon Siege film, which sadly isn't fake.

So is it a hoax or not? Parts of the trailer looked kinda hokey, but I have to admit I got a few chills - like when I saw epona and heard the main theme.

Let's hope that someone realizes that this would be a great movie project.

Or we could hope that the hoax is that the movie is a hoax

Zelda would not make a good movie. The storyline is not nearly as rich as other fantasy-based novels like LOTR. I just can't see this being a good idea, ever. Look at the SMB movie for your proof.

For a nice action movie, Zelda's storyline would be rich enough. I'd love to see it made into a movie, really.

Most books are too long to be made into movies, look at Harry Potter (if you've read the books) where the books are massive but most doesn't make it into the movies. The story in Zelda is excellent for a movie and this definitely looks way better then movies like Eragon and that horrible one with a boy looking for symbols.

SMB is a bad example as the movie itself barely have anything to do with the games. There's an animated Zelda series BTW, not seen anything but trailers myself though.

Link doesn't talk, and if he did I wouldn't see the movie if it were made. Twilight princess or windwaker has enough story to make a movie, maybe Ocarina, but really what would you do about the 8 dungeons? All in all I'd much rather play the games, and look forward to Zelda Wii, the next big change in formula on the main consoles since OoT. Hopefully it will be the next game in the Windwaker timeline, featuring the next link. And hopefully Nintendo wont try and dumb it down for the casual gamers (shudders).

This is the company behind the hoax. There's a bunch of info about the movie. I love the "cover" art:

Actually the Zelda cartoon were before the games and thats where Link did talk! And link had Personality!

And the funny part was that he always tried to get kiss from zelda but always failed.

You can watch some episodes on youtube in example.

Did we mention the cartoon also epically failed?

I'm always excited about possible video game movies, and actually Zelda probably would make a good movie *if* they were going for an action movie with a good story. The best would of course be Ocarina of Time or Windwaker. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing Majora's Mask, most people would probably puke at the thought of it (it's not a popular Zelda game).

And being the gullible person I am, I actually believed that trailer. Those sick sobs...

Personally I think Majora's Mask has the potential to make the best Zelda Movie. Sorta like Ground Hog Day, only instead of becoming a better person Link has to stop the world from getting destroyed.

Then again Majora's Mask is one of my all time favorite games, so I might be somewhat bias towards it.

Em, NO! The original The Legend of Zelda is from 1986 while the animated series aired in US in 1989, which is also after Zelda II:The Adventure of Link. 4 games in total where released before The Ocarina of Time.

Oh sorry I made a huge mistake. Toh yeah the cartoon sucked on following Zelda.. But it was more comedy than serious.
