So why does this code produce nothing? Can someone please give a working example of how to make a cube project a shadow onto a flat plane?

The Real-time shadows command in DBP is hardware dependant, basically that means you need to have a graphics card that supports it for work. Hence it won't show up on everyone's computer, in addition to the fact that it's CPU intensive, it's not always the best command to use.

Shadows are devils to use. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Have a look at the basic3D showcase example to see if you pc supports shadows.

I'm not sure, because I've never used the shadow commands, but I think that all objects involved have to have shadows turned on. That means you'll need to turn on shadows for object 2 as well as 1.

Perhaps also plains don't work very well - if the above doesn't work, try using two cubes.

Hope one of these helps!

No, You only have to have the casting object using shadows. When I've had a game and switched on shadows, is works, when I build a game specifically for shadows it won't work! Luck, eh?
