I remember when having a 500MB HD was amazing. And i remember playing Dark Reign - FOW all day (probly my alltime favorate game).

I remember mucking around massively with something like a 100mb drive to get X-Wing installed. Those were the days when hard drive increases were through the roof. After my approx 100mb drive I went upto something like a 1gb drive that totally rocked. Almost cried when I saw Blade Runner though...

I just remembered a song called "Windows 95 Sucks" by Bob Rivers. One of the lines goes: "4 gig drives don't grow on trees" I can't even remember how large (small) the drive was on my first computer (after my A500). It was a 68030 33MHz Macintosh Preforma 6300, see image:

Hehe, I remember a PC I had with 3 hard drives, totalling about 200mb, I thought I was the man!. Doesn't seem that long ago, storage capacities seem to have grow exponentially above everything else.

We have a 2-terrabyte backup station at work, and we use external USB drives to back up from that (one is taken off site while the other backs up). Anyway, my boss was trying to hook up a new one and the station is on top of a high shelf, and this brand new 1tb USB hard drive fell on his head - solid steel case has a big dent in it!, they must weigh about 2kg, and have nice sharp steel edges to dig into your skull.

One of these things...


I tend not to laugh at other peoples missfortune, but in this case I feel justified as he'd laugh it up if it happend to me!. No serious head trauma that I know of, although he is still trying to get it working, which might tell us something.

i also remember playing on computers with a black screen with green font. Oh and tearing the edges off a print from a dot matrix lol.

I remember the first monitor I saw, it was a mono coloured screen.
I remember my first game I played PONG!
I remember the first shooter I played DOOM!
I remember replacing my console with a teddy bear, I was very young at that time, the teddy seemed more intresting.

Ive not been around long enougth , i wonder if i can plug in a mono colored screen into my comp now and see what ArmA looks like.

I remember the first console I played, the odessey 2 with space invaders IN COLOURS! I was like 6 years old and totally blown away. I still have the odessey a few meters besides me here, haven't powered it up in over 10 years and i'm afraid it will blow up if I do.

Go into your graphics card settings, and set saturation as low as it will go.

I remember when Wolfenstein (the old one before Doom) was new and we played it on the library computer at schools on breaks. If you pressed down LIM on the keyboard you got full health and ammo. Lim is Swedish for glue so that was kinda funny; one guy "glued" the one playing We also used to play Wacky Weels against each other.

Since I had a Mac back then I much more preferred Marathon vs Wolfenstein and Doom. You could look up and down and it had secondary fire, also the gameplay overall was so much more entertaining. Marathon was developed by Bungie (the ones who made Halo) in case you didn't know. They are finally going independent again

Wow, I did that too around 4, but my brother got it instead and I rarely got to play it. Same thing happened with the SNES. When my brother got the SNES, I inherited the NES though. Same thing with the PS1. I'm a second-class citizen at home.

I remember hiding behind the sofa when my dad played Resident Evil. When I played it, I was Ok when the sound was off, but when zombies and the ugly dogs etc. were there, I'd scream my head off and switch the computer off.
