Hi. I am trying to work out the bugs and get feedback on my FPI script editor. The editor provides a full multi-tabbed syntax colored editor with support for projects. It also has a cool little code assistant that both translates existing code into a more readable form and allows editing and creation of new code in a much easier way. Hopefully it will meet the needs of new comers and advanced FPI scripters alike.

More information and screen shots are available in the FPSC Chat forum. The thread pointer is below. The beta is available now and I would love for you to try it out and give me some feedback.

Thanks!

Interesting deal you got there, but I wouldn't be able to use it.

I continually add more commands every day (okay, every week or so ) and I don't expect the Editor to telepathically know what commands I've put in.

How about a feature that allows the user to specify new commands in a text document that the GUI will use for highlighting correct syntax.

Sure. I'll include it in the next Beta release. Besides the syntax highlighting, the commands will also show up in the coding assistant. Thanks for your input!

No problem, if you get that working, I may even start using it, but I've become such a Notepad freak when it comes to scripting. Lol

I know the power of notepad as well. Simple. Doesn't get in the way. That's why I allowed the code assistant to be switched on and off. One Cat Coder does provide some nice advantages to the notepad addicts of the world.

Advantages for the notepad addict:
+ Group related files into projects.
+ Multi-tab editing
+ Syntax highlighting
+ You can turn off the code assistant if you wish.

Its nice to get visual verification of command syntax, multi-tab editing and what I find really helpful is the projects. I tend to open a group of scripts at once. Grouping them into projects so that you can quickly access related scripts is a real time saver.
