Are you looking for indoors or outdoors?

Me Outdoors, will always be and always have to be MatEdit, its the only one worthy.

Indoors i would go with cartography shop 3(although i'd wait cause theres a new version coming out soon).

Opinions are like a$$holes, Everybody has one.

I don't understand why you would ever want to export an entire level to .x
Having the level as one single, gigantic object is very inefficient. With BSP, DarkBasic hides all objects not visible, which produces much higher fps. BSP also has its own collision system. Why would you export to .x, not BSP?

Magic World is good for outdoors, it's easier to use than matedit, but I haven't used either of them enough to have a preference.

why not BSP: cause carto shop doesn't have bsp?
so save as .X and convert it with the PVS convertor of DBP.

and no, DBC doesn't have BSP

as i said, no BSP for DBC. To use BSP you'll need DBP.

But there is some Team that works for a PVS system for DBC ... can't tell you their name, but when i tested it last time, it was very fast, much much faster than static items and things like that.

I just started reading about "QuArk". It sounds really good! It exports BSP and I think many other formats.

If you think Quark is good, there are lots more people using GtkRadiant. They both do Quake3 bsp's but I found that Radiant is much easier to set up, and the Radiant community is definitely more active that the Quark side. their site is at www.qeradiant.com
There's a new 3rd party bsp compiler for Radiant that's in beta right now, called q3map2. Everything you need to know is at LE section of www.quake3world.com/forums
Hope that helps. I don't have dbpro btw, just the trial. Got about 20 days left.

Radiant requires that you have one of the supported games installed, I think (ie. Jedi Outcast, Sof2, RTCW, but maybe not necessarily Quake3 itself). It won't run unless it detects one of those games on your hdd.
