On TV the people who make the show are paid for it, hence you get TV adverts, (and pay for TV license (in the UK) and Sky or cable) though I don't see a problem if a website is able to get funding for the episodes to be shown - I think that's why all-SP is legal (or so it claims to be at least, it hasn't been shut down yet and is a fairly well known site to stream from) It's probably a way forward for to watch television if advertisement (or users) can pay for a show.
