The motherboard width and depth is:
Width: 30.5 cm
Depth: 19.3 cm

The case supports: "All types of Mainboard up to 244mm".

When it says 244mm what is it referring to? Will the motherboard fit in the case?

well, whats the length of the board? If it's square that means it's 930.25cm or 93.025mm. Then it will fit. Unless I did my maths wrong...

You made no sense. 244mm is 24.4 cm. It's more than likely the depth.

Look at the name of the mobo, if it's atx or mini-atx, and your case support atx or mini-atx, then you're fine

That's an odd shape for a mainboard... A mix of standard ATX and Flex-ATX . What's the name of the board?

I would assume that it supports all ATX form factor variants up to 244mm. That includes Standard, mini and micro ATX boards which are the most common these days.

Motherboard:
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(21207)Asus-Motherboard-P5KPL-G31-LGA775-LGA775.aspx

Case:
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(25009)Colors-IT-8011LB3-Silver-Midi-Neon-Case-Window.aspx

Since it only mentions 'Micro-ATX' form factor supported on the case, I guess the motherboard is too big.

Yep, those are compatible. Dunno why it's advertised as a micro atx case, it definitely is an atx compatible case.

Ah, thankyou

On second thoughts, I'll probably be ordering the following board instead (micro-atx) since it is cheaper and seems to have similar specs. Is there any reason why I should avoid micro-atx besides the increased 'fiddlyness' of installation? Are there any noticeable issues with the board below?

Besides the increased fiddlyness, you lose a few pci slots and 2 ram slots. On top of that, asus is a superior board to gigabyte (though both good).

I'd spend the extra and go for the asus.

I don't have time for dodgy motherboards thats why I always buy Gigabyte. I'd vouch the're a good make. Make sure your memory is pair of Corsair too

I've had two gigabyte mobos, and both have failed after a few years Aopen is the best mobo I ever had, but they don't make much in the way of intel motherboards, last I checked. Anyway, I hear nothing but the best on all asus hardware, so I would trust them on that front.

And I still trust gigabyte, but don't expect it to last forever:o)

my first custom-build mobo was a gigabyte, had no problems with it, hence on my new custom build I got a gigabyte again. Wow, what a load of improvements! I love the overclocking features it has, though I don't know what asus has since I have no experience of them, they may be even superior, but meh..

I don't regret buying a gigybyte, besides, it was the only mobo that supported CrossFireX/AMD Spider platform at the time I bought it

I use gigabyte myself as the price is always right.

However, I stand by the opinion that out of the 2 motherboards above, the asus is the better buy
