Just bought it about an hour ago. Pretty sweet, even if it is a bit repetitive. I really like that they've brought back some of the great levels from the previous games, especially the Skyscraper battle level from N64, I love that one.

So who else has it? Waddya think of it?

Wish they continued on the Double Dash series, that game was better then the normal Mario Kart, since you could COMBINE powers, and do co-op races. Instead of just the same thing as in every other Mario racing game.

Ya, I know they're kinda repetitive but I like how this new one has brought back so many levels from previous games, that's real cool. And there's a big selection of vehicles and tracks and an even bigger selection of characters, which makes it a bit more exciting.

I reserved my copy. It is very fun. The battle mode (which I like more than racing ), was disappointing. But ad least there is online.

Yam I was hoping for some more courses, and most of the ones they chose from previous games sucked.

Nothing beats the battle mode in the original MarioKart on the SNES, it was just so much fun and so straightforward, we played that a LOT. Really back then all you needed was a SNES with Sensible Soccer, Bomberman and MarioKart, and you had some great party gaming. I really like the DS version of MK, but haven't bothered with the WII yet. The DS version is great for when I get lumbered with my nephews, 3 player MK can keep us occupied for hours, especially once you unlock all the tracks, there's tons and tons of them.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

Ahh, ya, I think Mario Kart for SNES was the first videogame that I ever played. I used to always get mad at my older brother cause he would never go easy on me. I also really enjoyed the Mario Kart for N64, the battle levels were fantastic IMO.

I also loved Mario Kard for the N64. But no one would play battle with me.

If anybody wants to exchange friend codes, I'm up for a game.

I'm not getting it, because it'll be ridiculously overpriced where I live and the Wii likely won't get past the main menu before it overheats. Plus, I'm almost willing to bet the cube one was better.

^^ Agreed. My Wii generally stays pretty cool; I've never seen it actually get hot, let alone overheat.

Yeah, the Wii has the least trouble with all the technical problems of all the new systems. I once actually flipped the Wii sideways when playing a game, and while it did restart the game, the game was completely fine and unscratched. Also I've never had it overheat, or even get warm.

Although the first part of your post has no backing, I might agree with you. the GC Mario Kart is SO fun. It'll be hard to beat...

You mean you can't do that with other consoles? Wow, I've knocked over my WII tones of times while playing, once it got dragged across the room by the cords at the back.

Yes, well I think mine was refurbished or something. It's covered in scratches that were there since day one, is very noisy, came with no Nintendo star points and the Wii Sports was in a paper packet you often get free CDs in. I didn't get the nice DVD case.

Isn't it just America that didn't get the nice DVD case for Wii sports? Unless Agent Dink doesn't live in America and then that theory goes out the window :-P

Yeah in America we just got the little cardboard case. Pretty sure the rest of the world got a full on DVD case. Anyways I've heard that it's a step down from Double Dash and DS, which were both awesome, so I think I'm going to wait a while for a price drop. Plus, I just got GTA IV.

Ya, it's not quite up there with the N64 one and Double Dash, but it's still another good game for the Wii.

The one thing I cannot stand about playing Wii online games is, Its impossible to talk to the people you are playing with.

I'm glad you can't talk to people... While I enjoy in game chat with my real friends, playing against random people who just chat crap for the entire time gets on my nerves...

Oh well I guess it wasn't just the US then... Incredible that Nintendo DID give Australia a DVD case then seeing as they usually screw over Aussie gamers...

just wait until you get your next 5000 Minutes of AOL disk in the mail or whatever. Sometimes those stupid free DVDs come in DVD cases. then you don't have to worry.

Quote: "Ya, it's not quite up there with the N64 one and Double Dash"

eww... the 64 game isn't NEARLY as good as Double Dash... the new Wii one BETTER be better than the 64 one. Not saying that MK64 wasn't good. It just wasn't as good as the SNES or GC ones.

The N64 ones a classic. I loved it. In my option, It had some of the best tracks out of all the other ones. And the best Battle mode.

Ya, Mario Kart 64 IMO is right up there with Goldeneye in terms of multiplayer fun.
