Well, after 10 full Freeware games released (8 of them developed using DarkBasic), I decided it was time to start creating my first Indie Shareware game and so I'm into that by now... this is it, Skyblaze XL, based on a Trailblazer/Skyroads like game concept I always liked. I already made a similar game named Skyblazer, and now I'm evolving that both graphically and in terms of gameplay.

Here the first in-game images so far:

Gameplay is simple: run your marble as fast as possible (and when I say fast I mean fast... ) to the end of the level, jumping over holes and obstacles and gaining more and more speed-ups
If you want to have a concrete idea of the gameplay you may download the first older prototype of Skyblaze XL, named Skyblazer, a Freeware game I released some time ago. Link below:

On the same page there are my other Freeware releases so far

I hope to update this thread with a playable alpha in the next weeks.

Alex

@LT Tatters and blobby 101: thanks for support!

Development Update: I just finished a first draft of the marbles to put into the game, there will be 8 marbles each one with unique features and skills.
here the 8 marble models so far:

A little question: I'm thinking about putting in an additional custom marble, where you can choose colour, skin, and skills (speed, jump and so on). Should it be a standard feature, or an unlockable one (when you have already won with the other marbles or something)?

AlexRiva,

looking great! and, i'd say offer the custom marble as an unlockable. it's always nice to have something extra to work toward.

and, easter-eggs are always nice, too... maybe unlockable based on higher scores?
*cough*

*cough*

Q: how many levels are you planning to provide?

always happy when i see you working on a new project. keep it up

@Virtual Nomad: Cool idea! And the texture I'm using for the external of the cyan/grey marble fits just well for that with some little adjustments! Thanks!

I think to insert at least 64 levels divided into 8 worlds (each world with its own graphical style and so containing 8 levels/tracks). At start you may play the first 4 levels of the first 4 worlds, the others will be unlocked
