awesome game!

It is far better to complete a 10 line program than to start a 10,000 line program.

I own backgammon. There was no "video" in front of the game thing people...

Or Yu-Gi-Oh cards if the show is to be believed and the Egyptians used to use witchery and black magic to kill each other with children's playing cards.

I still have a few Speccy tapes gathering mold in my attic, going as far back as Horace Goes Skiing. That was actually the first Speccy game I remember having massive family battles at, we'd take turns trying to beat the high score. That was a great little game, kinda like Frogger but with a Skiing game added onto it. Must have been released around 1982. Manic Miner kinda wiped out other games like Horace, it was so good there was really little point in playing lesser games - I actually played it on Sunday night on my DS when I couldn't sleep! (Got to the second Kong beast level, not too shabby).

Maybe we should say which old games we have and still actually play as well .

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

Arena may play well, but is not fun to play. It's that old.

My oldest would have been Horace and the Spiders and Harrier Attack on the ZX Spectrum. Think I got them around 1982-1983. Thats if you don't count Grandstand console games (with lightgun that looked like an awesome SWAT type gun) and things like that.

Unfortuantly my parents gave it all away (inc. about 3 computers) to charity Without telling me I know, I know... Anyways that leaves me with (quick check)...

A few games on the PC from 1994 (I can't find Doom or the like anymore...). The earliest of which is... Descent I believe. Good game that. Someone remake it now!...

Ooh, ang on found salvaged stash of ST games my parents didn't throw out. Nah, can't be bothered... Make that something like 1989.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Ohh Descent, used to play that a lot at work with 3 players over LAN, remember having to plan when to blow the reactor thing so that we could all escape. My boss used to go to university every Wednesday afternoon, so between Descent, DukeNukem3D, and Doom, you can imagine how much work got done .

There's a DS port but it needs the PC original's files, but yeah, a new Descent would be pretty cool, imagine it done with the UT engine, that would be incredible.

Man, I used to love descent...I played that shareware demo for hours and hours, slowly getting able to beat all seven levels. Seriously, why has no one remade that?

Yeah, pretty cool. But whats stopping someone here doing it in DBP? As far as I remember it was mainly boxy looking corridors and being able to rotate in any direction. About it really. Sounds pretty easy before you get into the eye candy department. Hmmm. Damn it, haven't enough time on my hands. If only I was a kid with a summer holiday (or a student with three years off) again!!!!!!

Cheers

Terra Nova is the oldest PC game I own that I still sometimes play. If I had Descent I'd add that to my list but alas it is no more

Baseball Stars or Megaman 4 and 5 on NES are my favorite old console games I still play.
