What do people think of the site I have just finished building for my DBPro game entitled 'DarkCode'?

Thanks for the encouragement everybody!

I used DreamWeaver MX to create the site. Didn't take to long once the main template was designed (couple of days).

The game should be ready for an Alpha in a couple of weeks (hopefully). I trust you guys will give it a good going over!

Oh,

I would really appreciate it if anyone whose interested in the game could register at the forums.....gives me an idea of its popularity!

Also, any improvements you can think of, etc, feel free to post on the forums there or here.

Thanks!

I quite like the design. Is nice. Though would probably go for cool blue lines rather than orange (like your screenshots).

What would be really cool is to have totally stupid stuff like out of those rubbish "hacking" movies. Such as Hackers, Independance day etc. So when you can't get the password then have a 3D skull appear. Or some kind of cool plasma tunnel when you get in. Would be a bit cheesy, but would be kind of cool.

Cheers

Interesting idea Dazzag. I am thinking of some cheesy subgames.....maybe I can include your idea in some way?

Go with the cheesy sub-games. Revolving 3D skulls when 10 year old kids got their first password rejected (but no others) was always cool (see avatar), if totally unrealistic. And lots of 3D mucking around of screens would be great. Such as have the console "window" spin off when you do a remote login to be replaced by a window that zooms in from the horizon, and then the other way around when you exit. Corny true. But good 80's and 90's hacker rubbish. Plus have lots of virus/worm type efforts. Such as when you construct your virus in stages, have it display revolving 3D shapes that start to fit together (Swordfish was like this with cubey thing starting to fit together as he typed like a ninja. And then it fell apart when he failed). Totally rubbish, but cool. And a 3D world of skyscraper type thingies that actually represent directories (more files in them the higher it is), and when accessing a file it zooms in on the relevant building (folder) and goes to the appropriate floor. This would be a corner window or something. The cheesyness level knows no bounds!!!! But remember, lots of 3D to represent easy to understand 2D concepts. No point showing a list of user names when you can have some 3D head display or somesuch. Nice.

Cheers

And don't forget, thanks to the amazing "Hackers" movie - coff - we all know the only passwords are "GOD", "SEX", or someother word I can't remember!!!
