Im working on making my own HTPC Case, and am looking to replace several controllers, I've never delved into Electronics like this before so Im looking for confirmation weather these items are compatable and will proform the tasks i want them to do before i spend any money on them.

PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8

Im assuming this is the Control Board to which i will need to connect all the following items, im also unsure if i can skip this and just use one of these USB Leads as this would be a cheaper option.

PhidgetEncoder

My new case "Previousley an Audio Receiver" has a Volume Control, This looks like the right component for the task, But thats a Guess.

Force Sensor

This may be a Force Sensor, But it was the Closest thing to a Button i can find, Please let me know if there is an actual button phidget, I need these for Up, Down, Left Right, OK and Escape Buttons.
Edit: Actually the Touch Sensor looks better as it works through glass so i would not need to cut out holes for buttons

At £57 for the Interface Kit, and nearly £10 per other item, (1 Volume Control and 6 buttons), Thats about £110 so i just want Confirmation these will work.

Thanks

Woah, pretty pricey. At that price, why don't you just buy a premade one like something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133029

I know it's not as fun.. but far easier!

Hurray for teh logd!

Maybe so, But not as much fun, Also i need a system which will take a Full ATX, Plus all my additional hardwhare I have in my current computer which includes a PCI Extender, You wouldn't ever fit my computer in one of those.

This is the Design im thinking of.

Also ill have to completley rebuild the Back Panel to Accept a MotherBoard Tray and PSU, But i think it will look nice after

I've also got an MCE IR Receiver which i could connect inside behind the Glass to limit External hardware, This will allow me t use my current MCE Remotes with it.
