Between the IDrawGirls site and you guys, I have been inspired to pick up a Wacom
It was more like an early birthday present, but I got the Wacom Bamboo MTE450 (~$70) today at Circuit City. I have to say, I really like it!
It was easy to install and so far has worked very well with various tasks. I can use it easily as an alternative to my mouse, it's does extremely well with Vista's handwriting recognition and it has added a whole new dimension to Photoshop CS3.
I am totally inexperience with using a tablet, so my PS works have been... well, picture a preschool kid'd drawing on the fridge
But I'm getting better and practicing some. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll put something up to show you guys (if it isn't too wretched
).
The thing is very thing (but still great quality) and very light. I still have to figure out these function buttons on the top but...
AND HEY!!! I'm one of those fella's with a curious mind... and I can't seem to figure out how in the heck the pen doesn't need batteries!? How is that possible if there are buttons on the pen itself, not to mention the pressure sensitivity. If it was just read by the tablet, and not the pen, I would be able to draw with my finger. But that's not the case. Someone explain this to me before I go nuts
