Well, in developing my own scrolling map loader function, I've run into somewhat of a pickle. I use to just do it all reading just one digit from a file and transposing it to the array that loads the bitmaps on the screan. Now I want to have the code a little clearer by having an array of strings read three and only three digits from the map.txt file at a time. How does one read two symbols at a time from a file? Thanks again.

I didn't quite understand that. Is there any chance that you can give us a sample of the source file, and show how you want it broken up?

Whups. Guess I didn't make explain well enough. Heres the gosub function if that'll help clear things up. I put it in the source code box.
