Yes. Infact I've used Poser 4 if I remember rightly.

What about it?

Cheers

Some sort of modelling thing specialising in human shapes.

Also FREE on this month's PC PRO magazine.

Poser is very nice for quickly doing human artwork. Take the time to buy an upgrade to Poser 4.

Poser 5 is debateable. I refuse to upgrade because, one, Poser 4 works fine, and two, I have been told the render engine on Poser 5 flat out will crash, even on 2000/XP.

Whatver the case, don't joke about using Poser's render. It sucks big time. Only the sketch renders are really interesting; the full texture renders look worse than what a noobie can get making from scratch on DB and then pressing PRINT SCREEN.

Export your Poser stuff to 3DS or OBJ format and render with any good 3D prog. I have seen folks get nice results with Poser and no other 3D prog, but you will need to do a ton of airbrushing in Photoshop.

And, don't even think you can use it for DarkBASIC. The models are way too high poly. Even with optimization in other programs, I can only get them down to 2000 for a male and 4000 for a female.

We can't stop here! This is bat country!

Yeah, we used it for 2D. Makes nice sprites. Seem to remember a camp Batman (has a "mince" factor thingy for a more femine walk) was quite cool. There is a nice selection of superheros on the net somewhere.

Cheers

I haven't ever used Poser, but I've seen some art made with it, and yes, the in-Poser renderer looks bloody awful. Still, it looks like really skilled artists can make excellent stuff with it (still have an awesome picture of a wizard in his study on my computer), but a lot of people just turn out making things that look like plastic models with wigs (as the hair is normally added in Photoshop from what I've gathered).

Yeah, i used it yesterday and already got a cool scene. Secret lady Operative taking cover behind a statue! Could someone help me on how to texture? I have a texture but how would it be placed on the model? I also want the model to hold a 3DS model of an AK47 but her hand doesn't seem to connect with the gun. Fun program though! I'll try to send a picture, need to upload it first. (Not to mention finish it)

Another question, how do I texture the floor? Or can't I do this in Poser 3?
