I am planning to upgrade my pc from its crappy state to something that can run magic world at least above 10 fps. And i want a good video card, i was thinking of Radeon 7000 or Gforce 4 MX. Any one got any suggestions that can help me?

The FX5200 is a very low-end card. I got my Radeon 9500 Pro for $128, and that is easily two steps ahead of the FX5200. You have to look at discount sites. I didn't get a manual and demo disc with mine, but I got $100 off the retail ATI price!

Edit-- wow if you were thinking a Radeon 7000 you should be pleased at what you can pick up for that money . Pricewatch has some great deals. I have ordered three products from stores they link to and have never been let down. Good luck!

Ahh but you see the Radeon 7000 comes with 3 free games

Serious Sam, Oni and 4x4 Evo... although the last 2 are pretty crap lol.

hey thanks everyone for replying

A radeon 9500 for 128 $ does sound good, can you order it from Canada though? At a store not far from me they have the radeon 7000 for 70$, is it a good deal? Oh well if all else fails ill just try to get the Geforce 4 FX 5200.

thanks

Radeon 7000 for $70 isn't a good deal at all. You can get a 7000 on Pricewatch for $32!

You can check, Pricewatch should say if the shops ship internationally or not.

Here I'll find some deals for you on various cards:

Here are some in the $70 area:

http://www.compuhq.com/radeon9200.html

Here's the card that Raven recommended for $96, selling for $62 :

I wouldn't be all that horribly choosy about which card you get, if you only want higher FPS then all of them should be good for you. I would personally recommend picking up a Radeon as they really do give you more power for your buck.
