Hi all
I've ben working on this for 8 month now and I think now its time to post it as a WiP

X-Island will be an Island - Shooter game.
The main idea is this:
You have got a Home Island, where you can buy new weapons and other equipment. You will have a boat with which you can travel between other Islands an Capture them. The main goal will be to capture all the Islands.

Status:

Modelling 95%
Editor 80%
Mainfunctions 70%
AI 10%
Mapping 10%

But i think a few Screenshots will say more than a thousand words.

This screens look quite promising and I really like the game's style.
Will there be any kind of story, or is it rather meant to be a sandbox-type game?
By the way, you could also post this WIP in the german dark basic-forums due to your menu being german: [href]darkbasic.de[/href]

Thanks!

Well I think I'l make it a sandbox-type game, because i think it's better to have no story then a bad one. But maybee i can think of one.

But i first have to get my Mainfunctions to a 100%.

I hope I can release a Demo next month.

Looks promising. What about adding some sea-combat during travel from one island to another (boat vs boat and boat vs planes or helicopters) firing from turrets, launching torpedos and so on.. Just an idea

I bet you could develop a decent story line.
I really like the style of your graphics. They seem pretty consistent so they all look good together. Good job!

Actually i like games without much story.
Well, it could have a story, but more like a HI-story.
Because i can image this game be like a deathmatch game

I can't tell from the screenshots, but is your water moving in a wave-like pattern? Or is it just a scrolled texture?

Momentarily it is just a srolled texture. But later I'l try to add a water-shader to it.
