Could this be classed as a game or just another rubbish post?
RULES:
A) The idea is to start off with a four-letter word and players add a new word either by
1) Changing one letter and retaining the order of the other letters
2) Changing one letter and rearranging the order of the other letters
3) Dropping a letter
4) Adding a letter
but CAN ONLY USE ONE of these options in doing so
For example:
Start word = BOOT
Next word = LOOT (option A1), TOOL (option A2), BOO (option A3), BOOTY (option A4)
B) ALL WORDS MUST BE OF THREE LETTERS, FOUR LETTERS, OR FIVE LETTERS
C) A player CANNOT play off of his/her own word
D) WORDS MUST BE IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE
E) Words may be repeated (this is inevitable) ...... no need to scan the whole post ...... just the last few entries
F) Plurals accepted (e.g dads, shops)
G) Proper Nouns accepted (i.e. the names of individual people [but no surnames], places, titles, calendar times, etc. ...... For example Joe; Mary; Texas; Duke; March)
H) If you submit an unusual word please verify (e.g. Wadi = gully or streambed in northern Africa and the Middle East that remains dry except during rainy season ...... source http://dictionary.reference.com
I) Try to avoid slang ...... and DEFINITELY NO VULGARITIES
J) NO ACRONYMS (a word formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a set phrase or series of words, as OPEC from Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or loran from long-range navigation.)
K) NO ANAGRAMS (a word, phrase, or sentence formed from another by rearranging its letters: “Angel” is an anagram of “glean.” ...... see rules A1 and A2)
L) ABBREVIATIONS [as distinct from acronyms] accepted ...... but only if it is so widely used that it has in essence become a term in its own right, such as exam (examination), auto (automobile). Do not use any that viewers will not immediately recognise.
M) Please keep it clean and tidy
N) Words submitted will be verified using http://dictionary.reference.com backed up by Chambers Words for Crosswords and Wordgames and I reserve the right to restart the game should any word not comply
